PRESS RELEASE

Hendrick Honda has achieved Clean Auto Alliance’s Environment & Safety Elite Award

LAFAYETTE, Colo. (March 6, 2017) – The Clean Auto Alliance is privileged to announce Hendrick Honda as a recipient of the Environment & Safety Elite Award.  With receipt of this prestigious award, Hendrick Honda joins a select group of automotive, truck and equipment dealerships, and service companies that have demonstrated dedication to excellence in regards to overall concern for their community, their employees, and their customers. In order to achieve this award, Hendrick Honda participated in a rigorous review process and proved adherence to industry best practices in all six program categories, including: Safety Systems, Environmental Systems, Hazard Communication, Loss Control, Emergency Response, and other Facility Specific Requirements.

“The goal of the Environment & Safety Elite Award is to reward automotive businesses that go above and beyond simply complying with environmental, health and safety regulations,” said Eric Schmitz, board chairman of the Clean Auto Alliance. “More and more often, consumers prefer to do business with companies that value good environmental practices and the safety of their employees, and this recognition program is a way for businesses to show their customers and their community that they are committed to exercising environmental, health and safety best practices. That’s a big competitive advantage that these businesses deserve to have.”

Hendrick Honda has been exemplary in meeting or exceeding environmental health and safety regulations and standards. Their activities include preserving their local environment by properly disposing of waste, minimizing emissions, and utilizing Air Conditioning equipment that protects the ozone layer. Additionally, they demonstrate their concern for their employee’s safety and well-being by providing a safe environment.  This includes; maintaining a chemical inventory, training employees, providing employee access to Safety Data Sheets and a written hazard communication plan.

“The award should mean a lot to the customers,” Schmitz said. “Not only does it show that the dealer cares about their workers and how the business effects its surroundings, but also that the client’s investment will be protected, by ensuring each job is done safely and without damage to the customer’s vehicle, or their community.”
